My wife refuses to watch The Wedding Singer because she hates Adam Sandler movies.

She also gave up on Beerfest 20 mins in.

Burn After Reading.

If it is dark, as in The Empire Strikes Back, then my wife typically does not enjoy the movie as much as I did. She did enjoy Empire, but she would never rank it as the best movie as I do. She had much the same reaction to Infinity War.

She absolutely hates anything with hobbits, elves, and wizards in it. Cannot stand Gollum. So of course I introduced our daughter to that character, and now, on occasion, when my daughter wants to elicit a response from her mom, all she has to do is say in a gravelly voice, "My precious!"

She also hates movies about old-style warfare, like Gladiator or Braveheart.

Insert just about any movie from my childhood here (exceptions being Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies).

A Christmas Story. yes my wife hates it About the only movie I can say this for.

I like Waterworld but my right hand doesn't seem to.

Anything with a lot of violence but the most egregious differeence in what I love but she hates is for Lord of the Rings.

My wife hates both of these films so much, I don't know why, I make it a point to put them on if I see them while scrolling through the channels.

Anything with violence and most anything that doesn't necessarily have a happy ending.

I love an awesome story and it doesn't have to end happy. She wants a movie to take her away to a happy feeling at the end. If she's going to invest 2+ hours in something she wants to feel better at the end of it than at the beginning.

Empire Records, although after 15 years he's learned to be okay with it.

She hates mst3k. But I got her to watch the rifftrax of twilight for my birthday, shes never laughed harder.

Seeing this in theaters was a defining moment in the relationship. I was laughing throughout...her not so much...we stopped watching dark satire together

EDIT: oh **** I read this as Starship Troopers... but this one kind of works too

My wife despises "O' Brother Where Art Thou" with a burning passion.

She hates stupidity basically and can't tolerate the representations, but also hates just like comedic satire. the racism also turns her off even though it's a parody basically.

She also hates "Napolean Dynamite" for the same reasons pretty much.

She is not a Farrelly Brothers fan either - particularly "Me Myself and I" or "Dumb and Dumber" or "Stuck on you" or "Kingpin".


However she loves "Ace Ventura" so go figure.

LOTR!

TNT used to (maybe they still do) play LOTR marathon Sundays starting with the fellowship at like 9am and ROTK would end at 10pm or something... Man she hated those days. Good times.
