Agreed...

and regarding the timeline, I think it may start out after DD S2, but there will be a large amount of flashback time to a time prior to his family's death.

I knew it.

I knew they were just going to drop this on us unexpectedly with no fanfare. Basically saying "BOOM! You're welcome!" That would have been so awesome, but I totally agree with their decision.
