What's the criteria for catagorizing a movie as a chick flick? Any romantic element? I haven't ever considered An Officer and A Gentleman as one.

Been a bunch of decent ones mentioned on here. I don't mind a good chick flick with the wife occasionally. I have a couple of others I like that I haven't seen on here:

Hitch--not a good movie, but cracks me up
Father of the Bride--probably my wife's favorite and Martin Short is hilarious!
Pitch Perfect--but I'm not sure if this is a "chick flick"
