Pulp Fiction vs Office Space was tough as I will watch either when they are on and both are probably in my top 10 for the decade. Schindler's List vs Something About Mary was interesting. Schindler's List is a better movie, but I've seen it once and have no desire to watch it ever again.

Also, I'm sad my favorite movie of the decade, Hunt For Red October was not on there.

I had to make some rules to help me pick a winner.
-Did I ever own a copy of the movie
-If it was on tv would I stop down on it more so than the other
-not to rely on critical acclaim but what movie I enjoyed more

On the toss ups, I voted for the one I would watch if they were both on tv at the same time.

Yeah, those of us who put it together spent hours debating which to leave out and which to include. Our original list had over 90 movies and we had to exclude them 1 by 1. It killed me to see some go, but we wanted it to include as many as possible that are blockbusters or have remained more relevant. Tough call, though.

Some of those were rough - Tommy Boy vs Happy Gilmore?

I have to admit something - there were several times that I voted for a movie that I acknowledge to be a lesser film primarily because I would rather watch it than the other. For example, Something About Mary vs Schindlers List. One is a great , even classic movie that I have to be in the mood for - the other is a decent film that makes me laugh each time I watch it.

Both are regarded as great movies for different reasons...Which seems to be a theme for a lot of the matchups. Some incredibly funny movies vs some brilliant dramas

Just dawned on me that this bracket did not have Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, or Toy Story. That seems crazy not to include them in the top 64 movies of the 90s. Did animated movies not come up in the discussion?
