What goes into Netflix removing movies from the rotation? Does it have to do with distribution rights or just to change up the variety?

Legends of tomorrow is in the middle of its 2nd season and won't be done by April.

That's got to be wrong.

That sucks. I was way late to the game on the X-Files, and haven't seen much of the first few seasons.

The original movie? Didn't it have Gregory Peck in it? Been a million years since I've seen that.

Is this a follow up to the documentary with the same title?

I'm not willing to google while at work.

i'm guessing that it increases viewership to constantly remove and add titles. People have this stuff sitting in their queue. When they see its leaving, "oh crap, i better watch that before it gets removed." Now they are watching Netflix instead of something on amazon prime.

My nightmare is that they remove a big show while I am in the middle of watching it.

I'm binging through the West Wing now and would not want to have to find my shows elsewhere

I'm about 3.5 seasons through Cheers right now. I would probably just stop watching if I had to go find the rest elsewhere.

As long as you stay subscribed, there's no benefit to them for you actually watching. If their agreements are like Spotify's (pay per song), they'd actually rather you stream as little as possible as long as you keep the sub.

Stealing would mean I own something, which I do not. I can stream movies and tv shows but can't download them or own them in any way. Big difference in my opinion.

Other than TV shows, Netflix is trash! Full of crappy movies from 10-15 years ago.

Just got Netflix, on the recc. from a friend I trust....he said I gotta watch Narcos. Well, he was right. Loved it!!

Now where to I turn? Too many choices for a newbie. Would like to start with something that is relatively new, not a "House of Cards" (however great it probably is).

Why? Something new with a small catalog of back episodes kind of defies the entire point of Netflix and the binge watch.

And aside from the first season, House of Cards is not very great.

I love house of cards, so I say start it anyway to be ready for the new season in May. But stranger things was really enjoyable and highly binge worthy.

Documentaries and TV Shows are definitely Netflix's bread and butter, but not all of their movies are old and trash. The problem with movies is that even if Netflix had every major motion picture made in its catalog the quantity of good TV watching time would be substantially greater than the good movie watching time, because the content of one good TV show can surpass the quantity of good movies in a given year. They had at least half of the Academy Award nominees and several of 2015's major summer blockbusters available.

If you subscribe to Amazon Prime, Netflix and HBO you can pretty much cover your movie and TV watching needs.

If you like Spielberg films or if you were an 80s/90s kid then watch the trailer for Stranger Things and if it piques your interest then I'd suggest continue there.

In addition to series and documentaries, I'd say Netflix has pretty much cornered the market for stand-up specials, too. Terrific selection of stand-ups available.
