Sorry if there's already a thread, but figured I'd check in to see what people were enjoying so far this year.

Only albums I've bought and really loved so far this year are

Chris Thile and Brad Mehldau- s/t
Two of arguably the best musicians working today, getting together to play some bluegrass, some jazz, some Elliot Smith, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell covers. Just amazing to listen to how well they play off each other.

Elbow- Little Fictions
I've loved this band for a long time, but didn't really get into their last album. This new one is really growing on me. Guy Garvey, for me, has the best voice in all of music.

Culture by Migos on repeat.

T-Shirt has been on repeat all year. Also really like Slippery.

Haha, I genuinely use these kinds of threads to check our stuff I might not have heard, so I'm all for things that are 'new to you'.

In this particular case, I had forgotten all about Gooey, so it's like getting to hear it all over again! It is a great tune.

It's impossible for me to keep up with all the new stuff. I'm always hearing stuff that has been out for a year or two, and I ask myself..why I haven't heard this before? Maybe we need a "Recently Discovered" thread.

I'm fine with this thread being that.

Also, here's the first track off that new Elbow album. I'm really enjoying how prominent the drums are on the whole album, considering their drummer for the past 15 years just left the band. New guy just hopped right in

Vocals could be Sting (at least to me).

I could see that. He sometimes has a bit of a Peter Gabriel vibe as well

Man, I wish I knew about these guys a month or two ago, I would definitely tried to make it out that night for that record release party.

Susto's sophomore album came out in January "& I'm Fine Today", really solid. Check out their first album too if you like it.

Just discovered a band called Wilderado some guys from Dallas and Tulsa, really enjoying it (have a Kings of Leon/Young The Giant feel to them)

Also just started listening to The Marcus King Band, their first full length album (Self-titled) came out in Oct 2016, it's pretty amazing, kid is 21(?) years old, can shred the guitar and has a voice like you wouldn't believe

Checking out Wilderado now, liking them so far

Album is over a year old but The Revivalists.
