I don't see how you include Ghostbuster 2 in this conversation. It made $215mm on a $37mm budget according to wiki. It didn't make as much as the original, but not remotely a "flop"

Sin City 2 was eh. It's seemingly the same as the first, but lacks the originality and the style of the original. It really does feel like they just rehashed things 9 years later. Plus the "original new stories" feel cheaper or less impactful, in a way. Just kind of dull.
