I actually think Brolin would be better at Duncan compared to Gurney considering the "next book " aspect.
I think they'll go with someone more youthful for Duncan. Also, Duncan's black. I'm predicting Daniel Kaluuya since he's worked with Villenvue before, though I think Anthony Mackie would be terrific in the role.

I am hoping for forced perspective with real worms.

Not sure he's black; per se;

Quote:

He had black, curly hair, a dark complexion, and green or blue eyes.

Could be Southern European equivalent; but I could see a black actor playing him, sure

I always pictured someone like Colin Farrell or Ioan Gruffud, "Black Irish" with how they described him.

If a deal makes, Momoa will play Duncan Idaho, the fierce swordsmaster who is fiercely loyal to the Atriedes family. The character, portrayed by Richard Jordan in David Lynch's 1984 movie, became a fan favorite who ended up appearing in all of Herbert's original novels.

I've officially never more excited to have somehow completely missed such a pop culture/sci-fi touchstone. That I get to see this movie completely fresh next year has me absolutely giddy. And the fact that, with Villeneuve, this is coming on the heels what has become one of my top five sci-fi movies of all time - Blade Runner 2049 - this project is slowly but surely becoming one of my most ever anticipated sci-fi movies ever, something I never imagined.

Regardless of how good (or good forbid bad) the movie is, you need to read the book immediately after you walk out of the theater.

I was hoping Momoa would be the fool that Paul kills in the duel when they meet up with Stilgars group.

So are they going to get an unknown for Feyd Rautha or a big time name. I am just going to go big and say Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Nah, Feyd needs to be smooth and catlike. His real defining scene is when he's fighting in the arena, taking on the Atreides soldier in the half-shield, where he really shows his character. Just a pure killer, and relatively young. A tough role to cast. Nobody really comes to mind.

You know, here is one out of left field a bit, but it plays on some of the history of the 80s film, where Feyd was famously played by Sting.

Harry Styles

I thought he was great in Dunkirk.

Miles Teller would be good, because one look at this guy and you know he's an arrogant *****. That would clue the audience in right away.

Nikolas Hoult

Robert Pattinson, he's got the hair

I could see Alexander Skaarsgard as Feyd. Would be perfect from a looks stand-point, too, since his real-dad would be playing his movie-uncle.

Or maybe Jamie but probably too old now and not agile/cat like enough
