Listened to the Talk is Jericho podcast with Mike Chioda and he said he was completely caught off guard with his release. Had been out getting surgery on torn rotator cuff and bicep since October, rehabbed and re signed a contract in March...
For a guy to give 35 years straight to the company and be done like that. Wow...
Given how few people actually last at any company, much less wwe thay long youd think he'd at least get a heads up on the way out. But you're right. That's Vince.
I just listened to that podcast yesterday too. Good stuff. Im all caught up on arn, 83 weeks and what happened when w bruce. So i started lookn into jerrichos archive.
I stumbled across this interview with Sid. Really interesting. I guess I always bought into his character as being a bit psycho...comes across as a pretty normal guy.
Big rebound for AEW from last week, but NXT gets the edge again. Kind of surprised. I guess NXT got the Great American Bash help. Next week's head-to-head should be good. Both shows should have pretty good matches going. Although AEW is going to have a puppy battle royale so....
I have this weird thing about the number 13. This screen shot was taken at 5:17...add those digits together and it's 13. The date is 7/2/2020...add those digits together and it's 13. There are 5.8K likes...add those digits together and it's 13. Weird huh?
I was 10 years old when this happened. My family was on vacation in Mexico and I remember bugging my dad all day, bc I knew there was a time difference and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss Nitro bc I was desperate to find out what happened in the main event and who the third man was. I even convinced him to let me leave our family dinner early to back to the room to watch.
I had brought a Hulk Hogan action figure with me on the trip and was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching Nitro as they went through what happened the night before at Bash at the Beach. I was absolutely devastated. I dropped my action figure to the floor and was almost in tears as I watched my hero tell me to "stick it!". I spent the entire first commercial break lecturing my HH action figure, trying desperately to get answers.
It's a memory that's etched into my mind. 20+ years later, I can still tell you what that hotel room looked like and how I felt. Wrestling was never better before or since '96-'97.
