Because it's the same thing each week.

Don't get me wrong I like John Cena the person. Can't stand his character.

And I think that is where the problem is. Cena is by far the most polarizing figure of all time in the WWE. He even said it himself last night. "I am okay with you chanting Cena sucks. And I am okay when you come up to me after the show and tell me you don't like me but thank you for doing right by my kid."

He is the face of the WWE and so many kids look up to him. The military loves him. Dying children want to meet him as their last wish. How can you take someone like that who is so great outside of the ring and make him a bad guy? Yes, it's all fake and scripted, but to a kid watching at home who looks up to everything he does, it would crush that kid to see Cena turn on the people. Face it, we may never see a Cena heel. The WWE just has way too much to lose if they go that route.

I think it will happen eventually...though probably still years away...and it could have the same effect as Hogan when he joined the nWo

Two points....

One, I wouldn't really call Hogan a heel when he went NWO. The NWO was loved by the fans and the fans loved Hogan even more when he joined.

Two, Daniel Bryan began as a heel and slowly turned baby face.

Cena has ALWAYS been a face. I just can't see them turning him heel. If they do, it will have to be something absolutely huge. It's not like Stone Cold turning on the Rock.

The nWo was definitely meant to be a heel faction, especially in the beginning, and it was a heel turn for Hogan. That promo after Bash at the Beach 96 said it all...plus the amount of trash that was thrown in the ring.

Cena was a heel shortly after he debuted in the early 2000's. I think it lasted about a year before he turned face and he's been a face ever since
