What is Southland?

I don't know, but next to BB, that was my favorite show on TV. GREAT cop drama. Very few of my coworkers/friends seemed to know about it. Officer John was one of my all-time favorite characters on TV, so the last episode and then finding out the show got cancelled sucked.

So Michael Cudlitz could play Abraham Ford on "The Walking Dead?"

Wow, what timing. I was driving today and randomly was thinking about this show and how I missed it.

Never found a huge following with it going NBC to TNT. I thought it was great and improved with TNT as they had to cut cast and tighten up the story a little more.

i think the number of replies is a good indicator of why.

Yep too many people are into vampires and dungeons and dragons type fantasy (or whatever you would call GOT) for a show like this to ever thrive.

Except for csi and ncis and law and order et al.

it was a good show, and a thread would pop up here every season. but the episodes were largely self contained so there wasnt ever very much to discuss about it.
honestly, though, i think asking why it was cancelled is looking at it wrong. NBC cancelled this thing after like 6 episodes. The 3-4 seasons we got on TNT were all gravy.

i liked it a lot. while police procedurals are as old as tv, most of them follow homicide cops. this show did a great job of showing the day to day life of the beat cops. they took a giant dumpn all over the fans of the show with the way they ended it, though. went from a fairly realistic show about beat cops to a stupid soap opera BS ending.
