Honest answer - he probably wanted in your pants and after the 1st or few times decided it wasn't worth it for whatever reason so while he may enjoy your company (albeit he's still hoping to get in your pants, just doesn't want to pay for your drinks), he's moved on from paying for your drinks to get in your pants.

I'm happily married and would never pay for another woman's drinks unless it was a group work function.

Also, I rarely ever let someone buy my drinks in college, and honestly I sure wouldn't at this point in my life (for the most part), if it wasn't my husband. I would absolutely cover my own share. I would feel odd to have a male cover my drinks. If someone had picked up the tab, I would have sent them $$ regardless.
