We don't do it at my house anymore. Between the high-school kids with no costume on, neighborhoods bussing kids in to other areas, kids that want to sort through your entire candy bowl to pick out the exact one they want, and others that try to grab a fistful like a hungry dog, we're out.

I buy a couple of those big ass bags of fun size candy bars and another that doesn't have chocolate (Starbursts, Skittles, etc.) I give each kid one of each.

I buy whatever candy I like, so that I am not stuck with a bunch of candy I won't eat if no one stops by my house. Kids are lucky that I have good taste!

All the prepackaged crap my kids won't eat. Like cereal bars they had to have but hate, snack sized bags of chips from the variety pack they don't eat. This is my chance to unload that crap on begging kids. Will probably have the M&M snickers variety pack to give out too.

I was on a car forum years ago and there was this one rich dude that went to the local Krispy Kreme and had them churn out as many donuts as they could the afternoon of Halloween and he handed them out by the dozen. After a couple of years he had a line up of kids down the street at like 3 pm.
