You'd think the access we have to information would make agendas much more difficult. Man is that not the case.

Progressive women used to think they wanted to fight for their rights and be equal.

Now progressive women cheer on mentally challenged men who pretend to be women after self-chosen mutilation.

It is a strange world, I tell ya. Times have changed.

People used to eat at home. Fast food pretty much didn't exist. There were drive ins and burger joints, but you had to wait for your food to be cooked.

Grocery stores closed at 6pm. It you missed the closing time, you would go next door to your neighbors and 'borrow a cup of sugar', or whatever. People were more connected out of necessity.

Not as new as you think. Back in the days of 3 over the air networks, 2 big newspapers, and 2 major news wire organizations, there was plenty of agenda driven democratic propaganda. We just didn't have other ways of getting the information to know we were being misled. Having cable news channels with a different ideological slant and internet blogs pulled the veil back on it, but it was far from new when they showed us that it was happening.

When I got out of the Marine Corps just after the 1st Gulf War, I met a guy who had just graduated from Stanford and he was telling me how my 5 year old daughter was in the 'last generation who knows a computer, a TV, and a telephone as 3 different things'. I laughed it off at the time, but damned if he wasn't spot on. Sure, those items still exist separately, but look around; pretty much everybody uses a phone for all the functions that were done separately on those devices.

Right now in my own living room, my wife, 2 daughters and even me are all looking at our phones while the Olympics are running on the TV, but we are only glancing occasionally.

I remember going out to the mall parking lot on Sundays and riding a skateboard with a windsurfer mast attached to the deck. Very few places to do something like that these days...

Milk being delivered to your house
Having your gas pumped for you, oil checked, and windshield cleaned when you just needed gas.
White tube socks to just under your knee.
Pay phones were a dime.
45's on your record player.
The long coiled phone cord you would stretch into the next room to try and talk to your girlfriend.
Nobody wore seat belts. Even kids.
You might get beat up but not shot or killed.
Rifles in the racks of trucks in the school parking lot.

The long coiled phone cord was a serious status symbol back in the day. We had one that was 16 feet!

BTW, you can still get milk and dairy home delivered. It is awesome and tastes fresh, but it's expensive as hell.

You're right, I haven't thought about that in forever! The neighbor my parents gave/got the most from was also the one who watched all the little kids while their parents were at work so she knew pretty much everybody.
