We bought a 10% stake in a place called Orderup back in late '07 to help fund an expansion. Unfortunately the expansion didn't work out, but, the original Alamo Heights location has always done well. The food is unbelievably good

It's the flavor of a griddle grill that hasn't been cleaned in who knows how long and is used to grill all sorts of stuff besides burgers flavor.

2) Whataburger patties don't really have much flavor. It's all the other stuff they put on the burger that makes it better than most fast food burgers.
3) Dairy Queen has better burgers than Whataburger (this wasn't the case 30 years ago).

The Whataburger patty melt is the greatest fast food menu item in the history of fast food menu items.
I enjoyed their mushroom / swiss burger they did a year or three ago. They sprinkled it with magic dust.
