IIRC it was the Appletree, formally Safeway at the corner of Texas and Harvey. I don't live in CS but I think it is now a Spec's?

That was my first year on campus, and it must have made quite the impression on me. I'm a runner, and 25 years later, I still won't run on west campus or in research park by myself. I had forgotten the details of this story, and didn't realize this was why I felt that way.

I wonder how the women who experienced this trauma are doing now? I can't imagine the emotion of realizing your cashier is the man who attacked and raped you.

Wasn't there also a guy breaking into girls' apartments around that time too? Didn't he set the place on fire after he attacked one?

That was Ynobe Matthews. One of his victims, Jamie, was a very good friend of mine.

Girl he murdered was a high school friend of one of my best friends now. Sounds like she was about as sweet as a person could be. Good to know he's burning in hell.

I remember that. Looks like he's eligible for parole in only 10 years.

MuckRaker- Lori was a very sweet person indeed. We went to elementary and junior high together (she moved before high school) and were casual friends and were in some school clubs and classes together. I remember that she was a beautiful writer, pretty, and kind- hearted. I'll never forget hearing about her death and still remember it like it was yesterday. I was so shocked and saddened by what happened to her.
