Thanks. I knew there had been a small airport in my neighborhood that's now completely covered by residential streets, but had never found much about it besides old aerial photos. That site had a lot of info and photos I hadn't seen.

Back in the late 70's, my dad built a plane in our garage and flew it it out of a small airfield in southwest San Antonio called Westside Airpark. I have many memories playing around those hangers.

In the mid-80's, homebuilder Ray Ellison bought the land and put a subdivision there.

It was cool reading about it.

There is a old Air Force Base just outside Pyote, TX. It was used to store old planes. The Enola Gay was there at one time I believe.

We had an aero flight test facility there in the 90's. Our big old hangar was full of surplus treasure and was a fun play pen for airplane geeks like me.
