To help with anxiety it was helpful when I was told I only have the possibility of controlling things within arms reach. Outside of that distance, it is not something to freak out about or get anxious about.

Sometimes doing nothing is the answer. This was also a remedy or revelation for anxiety.

My life lessons:

1. If you think your life is bad now, it can, and most likely will get worse at some time. Embrace it and move on

2. Never stop telling your kids what you think. Once they are grown, don't get butt hurt if they don't agree.

3. Look inside rather than out when things get tough. It's much easier to change you than others.

That "we can still be friends" thing is something people just say to be nice to each other when they break up. They don't really mean it, and stalking them will just make things worse.

1) have fun but don't be stupid (advice from my dad every time i left the house in high school)

2) internet hack - If you open a link to a pay-walled article, close out, reopen link, and quickly click the X icon that appears in the place the refresh icon typically is... then go on reading. Game changer.

3) girls named Crystal are not to be trusted

4) don't put anything in writing you wouldn't want read back to you

5) road trips planned and embarked upon after 10 PM are generally a bad idea

6) when people show you who they are, believe them
