I really enjoy the show
My wife watched the overrated Big Bang Theory and won't even watch this. The commercials for it look awful.
Never watched it, but sometimes it is nice to sit down to something you can turn your brain off to and laugh at. That's what the GB used to be, also

Oddly, Sheldon's family are Aggie fans.
So in the show they give out the family's phone number several times. I found out that if you call that number you get an answering machine... the message of which was voiced by the characters on the show.
I think the show's biggest demo are 60+ year old women. Basically the same people who were into the original show around the time it went off the air.BenFiasco14 said:

When it turned into everyone has to have a GF (aka friends), I quit watching. Seeing random commercials for it made me mad at the show. It was good, but they turned it into crap.

I've had numerous people tell me "OMG you should watch the Big Bang Theory you would love it!" to which I always respond like this:
Young Sheldon is nothing like Big Bang Theory. The only thing similar about the two shows are character names.
I think the sister, mother, and grandmother are all funny as hell.
I don't care - I honestly think it's one of the BEST prime-time, major network shows on.
There are only 3 or 4 of those I watch (the rest are "cable channels" such as History, Paramount, etc). Young Sheldon is one I actually record so I don't miss it.

Considering that BBT criticizes everything about Sheldon's family and anything seen as conservative, I can only assume its not a complement.
Or maybe a show that considers Beaumont as East Texas would buy into the East Texas "sliver".
It's actually pretty funny - but only if you "get" the Sheldon character in Big Bang Theory.
Where are you getting Beaumont from? I thought it was set in the fictional town of Medford.
