I'm looking for something to binge watch. Seems to have been popular.

It's either Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Mad Men or The Wire. I've heard they're all good.

And even though they are of legal age IRL, a lot are considered kids in the show.....so that would probably be the reason he would choose this over all of the others on the list.

If someone were to start watching GOT are the first episodes good or is this one of those series where you have to fight through a few in order to get hooked?

Now that it's over I'd like to get the wife hooked on watching this so we can watch it together - for the tiddies of course - but if the first episode or two is boring or especially gory I might skip a few and start there.

I was hooked at the end of the first episode. If you/your wife don't go "Oh S**t!" after the first episode and immediately want to watch the second, I'll be surprised.

For seven seasons, Game of Thrones was my favorite show of all time. Watch those 7 seasons then imagine how it ends and skip season 8. Your imagination will be 10 times more satisfying than the ending show creators came up with.

Game of Thrones is great. But there's a ton of characters and storylines. Its a tough "background watch".
I also highly reccommend the Wire.
