Just finished reading the series online. Didn't realize that part of Houston was so bad. I recall a friend whose brother relapsed and they had to extract him from a motel in that part of town. Said it was the craziest scene ever.

Interesting. The "game" is much bigger than the Bissonnet Track.

It is sad, but it wouldn't exist without paying customers.
The conversations will be uncomfortable, but we all have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable for progress to be made.

I don't see how legalizing it couldn't really help this situation.

you see, a pimp's love is very different from that of a square.

I don't think this is really the "regulate it & tax it" crowd.

And it's rather interesting timing on publishing the feature as OTC opens today.

Why does it always have to be about taxing with you big government types.

That's what I really wonder about. If it were available somewhere that is legal, clean, and maybe even a little respectable, demand would surely go down for the street.

But, those things might just drive up the price which leaves the market to the streetwalkers, or worse, becomes a gateway to the sex workers and/or addicts who start out legit and then fall into the streets. And what happens to an aging prostitute who is easily replaced by a fresh face?

What about the young and pretty who make easy money and blow it all (so to speak) and then are left with no skills or prospects?

Germany has legalized it and they still have some issues with trafficking for low end prostitution but for the most part it's confined with low crime and well regulated. Recent laws banning CFS and BBBJ and mandatory registration have helped as well.

I think legalization would help "the business traveller" and bachelor parties, where clients actually care about getting arrested. But the street game is on a different level.

Seriously, Bayside -- no one wants to hear about you banging Eastern European *****s in Germany anymore.

I think prostitution should be legal, but it's beyond pathetic to pay for sex.

Buddy, every swinging dick on this board has paid for sex. Some prefer the cash up front method, others prefer the installment plan. Let's not pretend you've never bought a dinner, paid for drinks, or taken a chick (or dude, not that there's anything wrong with that) in the hopes of getting some afterwards.

I've heard this before, and maybe with some men it's this way... but you can't tell me there aren't a ton of old, obese, or otherwise sexually unappealing men who pay for sex literally so they can have sex. They aren't looking to avoid cuddling afterwards, there would be no afterwards if they weren't paying a hooker cash to get them off.

For these people, if they didn't pay cash for sex, they would never get laid.

I was stationed in Germany with the Army from 2003-2005. They handle the business of prostitution a lot better than we airheads do here in the states. It is a highly regulated and monitored business, but legal. Back here it's nasty trashy women who I would never bang, free or not, for the most part. They are treated like garbage too.

Oh look, that idiot who doesnt understand a joke and feels the need to break it down as if it were a serious statement. Just think, you didnt get this simple joke, how many other normal conversations fly right over your head.

Prohibition creates a black market where the pimps and human traffickers rule. I don't like it, but legalization or at least decriminalization would be better for the sex workers. Tired of pearl clutching preventing reasonable policy. This is the world's oldest profession and it will last the rest of human history.

Plus our current laws are hypocritical and make no sense. Person A can give Person B sex for free, but if Person A asks to be paid, they both go to jail?

Well, except if Person C decides to film the sex Person A is charging for, and puts it on the Internet. That's totally ok, for some reason.

Why can't we live in a society where victimless crimes aren't a thing?

Decriminalization is the dumbest thing for anything. Just make it legal or illegal. Don't pick and choose what to enforce. It brings down every other valid paw. /end rant

Now, local officials have taken the radical step of asking a judge to declare several blocks off-limits to more than 80 people accused of engaging in prostitution labeling them nuisances to the community and threatening fines if they return.

That will work, Hookers aren't capable of moving.
