Late to the party, but let's not forget this college graduate is taking immigration advice from a mid-level manager at a mid-tier airline.

Stupid on her, especially since it relates to something she should know very well given her status.

That said, it's unfortunate...who wants to see anybody detained for not harming another person? I don't think it's right just to "set em free" because it's an unfortunate situation though.

Everyone should be more up in arms as to the fact that the only reason she's an Aggie and has a degree is because of her immigration status.

Taxpayer money spent on affirmative diversity action... on a liberal arts degree... that is now a flight attendant... that is spending money on detainment because she's traveling illegally.

Quite a stretch to say that the *only* reason she's an Aggie and has a degree is bc of her immigration status.

For the record, Texas A&M does not exercise affirmative action. Her status / race had nothing to do with her admission to the school.
These folks (immigrants like the one in the article) can do all the right things to be a contributing member of society in the US, and people will still ***ch about how they had some "leg-up" on someone who, you know, isn't an immigrant.

Or some people could be justifiably ticked that those who don't pay IN to a system access the welfar system with greater frequency than those who DO pay into the system.

Not saying people should ***** and moan about immigrants non-stop, but don't act like many groups are given preferential treatment where character and ability should be the qualifiers, but instead, their immigration/gender/sexuality/race/political/etc status trumps their ability to qualify.
