The Metallica version is damm good, but there is just something about a true Black Irishman singing an Irish folk song to a rock-n-roll beat and riff that moves the soul. Phil Lynott did that song justice in a big way. Metallica recognized the genius to the whole deal and did it further justice. Far and away that is my biggest hats off to Metallica.

I have revisited this album, and this is a valid statement. In fact, I think this is a very underrated album when one looks at the entire Pink Floyd body of work including the solo works of Gilmour and Waters.

Very much a pop or chill out song vs typical rock, but I can listen to the chorus all day.
