We have a candy basket in our pantry that usually has candy, snacks, and yes... Little Debbie's!

My wife asked me to stop pouring in the individually wrapped Dove Chocolates because they are sitting next to the individually wrapped Starbursts.

She says the flavor from the Starbursts are seeping through their wrapper... through the aluminum wrapped Dove Chocolates... and making the Chocolates taste fruity.

My question, is it possible for flavor to seep through 2 separate packages (one of which is aluminum) to contaminate the flavor of the other???

Both thoughtful and smart a$$ responses are welcome!!!

Have you ever noticed how powerful the smell of starbursts are even before they are unwrapped? It's the flavorings seeping our of the folds of the wrapper.

Since both are unsealed individual wrappings the flavor of the starbursts will inevitably find their way into the chocolates.

Sorry dude. The wife is right this time. The only way to avoid the seepage is to eat all the starbursts in 3-4 weeks.

She is right, not like the starbursts and dove chocolates are sealed, just wrapped. If they were in the sealed 2 pack of starburst might be a different story.

I guess not as good as my wife's!

You wouldn't know him, as he passed in 2011, but he (Rob Loftice) was extremely popular and anybody in Celina over 8 years knew him. He grew up there, was the valedictorian, SAT national merit scholar and the proudest Aggie I've ever met. I went to 2-3 Celina football games - they won 4 straight 2A Div II state championships. They had a 68-game winning streak from 1998-2002.
I answered roll call at Muster. Piece of damn dust got in my eye.

When I met her 15 yrs ago, I got her drunk and pregnant as quickly as possible!

At work we have several kinds of chocolate and someone added peppermints to the container. Within a week all of the chocolate had a peppermint flavor.

Great and vital scientific truths are being discovered and validated on this thread and someone really needs to submit a peer-reviewed paper for the enlightenment of science. Lives at home and in the workplace can be enriched with the distribution of this seminal research.

When it comes to artificial flavors, go big. When I started my cancer treatment the staff told me to avoid the banana flavored contrast for my scans because it was the most artificial and nastiest tasting. After mistakenly following their suggestion at first (and almost puking up the mocha flavor) I eventually discovered that the hugely artificial tasting banana flavored contrast was the best one.
