A friend of mine works in a decent size college town and is volunteering for an event, sort of like a carnival. The city is the organizer, not the university. They circulated the flyer around to volunteers, including my friend who works for the university that's in the city, and asked for feedback. The flyer is terrible. Awful use of space, comic sans font, incredibly busy, weirdly spaced out, etc. Just all around awful.

The friend doesn't have any idea who made it and is only tangentially involved (working a booth)...would you rework it to try to make it better or just let it go?

Volunteer to be on the flyer/advertising committee portion of the event and fix the flyer, submit fixed flyer to whoever they report to for their subcommittee
or
laugh at the flyer, withdraw from the event due to flyer, burn flyers instead of handing them out.

Why is your friend living in a college town and worrying about a damn flyer and not picking up some spinner tonight?

I think the friend is female, which is why OP decided to use gender neutral pronouns and avoid requests for rule 1

Probably best to fret about it, talk to unrelated parties who can't do anything, and generally experience increased anxiety. Maybe she (let's be honest we all know it's a woman) should also act in a passive-aggressive manner. That often helps.

This is a guess but I bet they are looking for feedback about the content like if they didn't make something clear or forgot something. Saying I don't mike your mixed font and spacing is different.

I get it. It looks like crap and a 10 year old could make it look better but I've found it's better to let stuff like that go.
