USA Today made a website that mimics the draft for Vietnam. Just enter your birthday and you'll see if and when you would have been drafted. It assumes you were born in 1950.

Mine. Interestingly enough my football number was 47 also.

I am not sure how the draft works, but in my family I am the only son of my father and only grandson of my grandfather. My grandfather had one sibling a brother with one blood son and one adopted son. The blood son never had children.

Did family legacy factor in at all?

link showed 325, one day earlier would have been drafted. But I wasn't born in 1950.

My draft number was 7, the war stopped before I had to report for induction.

Wasn't born in 1950. Based on the year I was born, my lottery number was 12. But they stopped the draft before I got the Greetings letter!
