I could imagine one honest interpretation of these findings could be that as a woman's pay goes up, she is obviously spending less time doing typical 'domestic' duties, and would thus need the man to step up in some of those departments. If the man is hesitant to release the typical division of labor in the household, and thus potentially reluctant to take on more of these responsibilities, the woman would then be left working harder at both the office and the house, and this uphill battle could leave her more likely to be depressed.

Stopped reading there. I am tired of hearing about you old farts and what you want. You and your older siblings ruined America, and your birth cohort is currently in charge of the SNAFU we call the federal government. The abstract for this study should be, "We found that 50 to 62 year old people are insufferable."

This study is flawed as well as some of the responses.
First off Donald Trump is not between 50-62 years old. He is much older.
I am in that age group and my wife and I would currently fit the description of traditional gender roles. We haven't always been a one income family but are now.
If you are shooting for an "equal marriage" (whatever that is) then you are keeping score to determine if things are equal. If you keep score with your spouse both people will lose.
The idea that I am not dependent on my wife is both absurd and insulting. Maybe your wife is stupid. Maybe she is weak. Mine is not.
Paycheck amounts do not determine equality in a marriage.
