I saw the Broadway play and thought it was one of the most boring plays that I have ever seen and I have seen numerous plays. When that chandelier came down I was hoping it would crush all of the actors. But it was nothing more than a pinata.

My buddies agree but will not admit in front of their wives to keep peace in the household.

What's your opinion--MEN ONLY.

I like it, music is iconic, but I haven't seen it in like 15 years so maybe it doesn't hold up nowadays. Unless you're just not a musicals person I guess.

Me and the misses worked in the industry and have seen most everything. I have friends that have spent half their careers on one version of Cats or another. I have never seen it unless we count Ken Felds Icecapades version. (BTW some great stories about that tour)....When I sheeply confess to never seeing CATs to our Theater friends, the reply is universal, "its horrible".

Oh good! A place where I can finally rant about Cats!

Terrible writing, terrible production. Awful. The only thing that could have made it worse was I did not pay my own money to see it. Was given tickets. Which also meant I had to watch it.

Agreed. I like all kinds of music, and can listen to some of the signature pieces from big name musicals when I'm in the mood, but the combination of music, singing, costumes, acting, and sitting still through it all is torment.

I enjoy the theater and I even enjoy musicals. I HATE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. I don't like the music. I don't like the characters. It always seems excessively serious.

I took a dirty hooker to the opera one time and an old lady asked her "Did you like the opera, dear?" Unclassy thing responded with "It was so good, I almost peed my pants!". later that night we boinked on the lounge piano and then got married.
