If you do go to Fredericksburg, there's an ice cream shop, a condiment store with free samples, and lots of old, well-off couples with semi-hot, horny daughters. Eat as much as you can, bang a rich bimbo in a back alley, then head over to Gruene and float the river.

Underage is gonna take some fun out of it, for sure (I live here, but I'm an old).

If you are open on which weekend, you might catch the horse races Aug 12/13 or Aug 26/27.

The latter is Gillespie Co Fair....Billy Mata Friday night, Casey Donahew and Asleep at the Wheel Sat night. Races start at 1pm Sat/Sun. Carnival for you whippersnappers.

The Backyard or Crossroads saloon for music in the pm.

Maybe check out Luckenbach and Enchanted Rock during the day....Nimitz museum if you like history.

Hondo's, Porky's, or Alamo Springs for lunch.

If girls are going, they will want to walk downtown.

If you can get someone to get beer, try the Altstadt Kolsh. Stop at Stagecoach convenience store (Shell station) on the way into town to get some (at the turn to Luckenbach). Brewery isn't open for visitors yet, but they are cranking out GREAT beer already.

But the correct answer is go to Gruene and float the river now. Turn 21...and come to Fbg for Oktoberfest...finish your night at Crossroads. Send girls to the winery during the day while the boys golf at Lady Bird ($2 Lone Star Light tall boys).
