Very. Plus, I've got about $500 worth of coins that I've been needing to get rid of.

First, my bank started charging a fee for counting coins. Then, they simply eliminated their counting machine. I guess dealing with coins was too much of a bother for them.

The zinc coating wears off easily and the steel core rusts. I imagine they don't want rusty metal in their machines.

1. Get coin rolls
2. Count and roll your coins
3. Take rolled coins to bank
4. Have bank deposit them in your account.
5. Walk out of bank with $500 extra in your account.

Wouldn't it be easier for them to list what they DO accept instead of trying to come up with an exhaustive exclusion list!?

I agree, makes me think that anything not explicitly listed is acceptable. Like feces.

Sounds like a lot of people empty out their vacuum cleaners into coinstar machines.

Your bank will cash it with zero fee.

I use Coinstar to get gift cards since there is no fee for the cards. It is a lot easier to chunk a bunch of coins into the machine on the way to Lowe's than it is to waste an evening rolling them since I'm going to spend at least that much money at Lowe's anyway.

Banks have auto counters. Nobody rolls coins anymore.

Is this thread from the 90's?

****ing rolling coins.

Did not know that the gift cards was a thing and they didn't take a fee for them. They have Amazon as well as some others.

Most banks have auto counters. I discovered that mine does not when I showed up at the bank one day with a container full of coins.

edit: I guess that explains why there is a Coinstar machine in the store across the street from the bank.

Mine wont, unless I roll it all myself. Further, they won't even take large amounts of coins, since they don't have a counting machine.

Guilty on the pine cone parts. I thought they were worth more than a penny each.

Marrieds don't have sex, so the change tends to build up.

Of course, then you could just make a deposit at the local sperm bank.

So they think someone who is too lazy to roll their own coin is going to sift through a **** load of coins and pick out the 1943 pennies?
