I grew up on Bodacious and it was great, apparently new people running it now though.

Snows is god tier in my opinion. Also, good to see Micklewaith getting the love it deserves. That's where I take people for BBQ when they come to town.

Anyone been to Truth? Brenham isn't too far from BCS I could justify a road trip on a weekend for good bbq.

This one surprised me. I used to go there a lot. Not because it was good...just because it was convenient. Then it shut down for a long while. I guess the new owner has really upped the quality. That's great to hear. I will give it a try again.

Bodacious as a whole is so hit or miss. I love the one in Mt Pleasant. Dont like the one in Tyler.

Tejas and Corkscrew are both N. Houston BBQ places. Love them both and if you ever get the chance to try the Burnt Ends at Tejas you will be in for a holy experience.

Gonzales
Baker Boys BBQ
Opened: 2015
Pitmasters: Phil Baker, 63, Wayne Baker, 35
Method: Oak lump briquettes; indirect-heat pit
Pro tip: Add some fried catfish to your barbecue platter on Fridays.
After Phil Baker and his son, Wayne, had some success on the barbecue competition circuit, they decided it was time to do more more than feed judges. They opened Baker Boys BBQ in a metal building on the east side of Gonzales two years ago. Their selections exhibit a subtler post oaksmoke flavor than is typical of the area, and the variety is ample. Pork loin and pepper-crusted turkey breast are eminently juicy, while the homemade beef and pork sausage links are fantastic, serving as a proper homage to the region's sausage-making traditions. Uniqueas far as we knowis their smoked boneless chicken leg, crispy-skinned and stuffed with onion and jalapeos. Beautiful it's not; tasty it is. For dessert? Layered banana pudding, made from the excellent recipe of Phil's late mother, Virgie. Rating: 4. 1404 N. Sarah DeWitt Dr, 830-519-4400. MonFri 106, Sat 104.

It's not that good... Gonzales Food Market is way better.

Rudy's is like the Whataburger of the BBQ world. It may not be the best but it's ight in a pinch. I feel like they should at least get an honorable mention in the ad soaked liberal pages of this month's austin smut.

People lose their ***t over top lists. If I didn't have texags I'd make my own site and just random lists just to mess with people's heads. "OMG, no way is burger king on a tuesday is better than wednesday jack in the box!"

I certainly hope this is a joke or then you haven't had good BBQ at the level of some of these places. Ever

Good list - but leaving Ronnie Killen out of Top 10 smells political to me.

Aaron needs to go back and show them what they must have forgotten. Mueller's is overrated and overpriced. I'll drive 15 minutes down to the Salt Lick in Round Rock and eat their overpriced BBQ.

Meh...I like them all. I'm not picky about BBQ as long as it tastes good.

My issue is the wait for most of these places. Im not going to stand in line for 45 minutes for BBQ.

This list made me hungry. I'll have to go get me some Corkscrew tomorrow for lunch.
