Love em or Hate em?

My favorite is when people try to bargain on something with a 25 cent sticker on it.

But man sometimes you can really find some treasure, I just hate putting them on.

I guess it does attract the peasants.

Already made $20 on stuff I'd normally throw away.

I would never bargain lower for something with a 25 cent sticker. Would never bargain, period. Makes me uncomfortable. The problem comes in when they've priced something at about 90% of what you know it costs brand new. Are they expecting you to bargain and have worked that into the sticker price? Have been to a lot of garage sales and can never figure the protocol when it comes to that...

I always say something like I love this item and understand your price point. But to be honest I can really only pay X amount.

Almost always works

Hated them in base housing. The amount of junk was never reduced in the neighborhood--just redistributed.

I don't like goodwill but I donate to Salvation Army or local homeless shelters. Soooo not worth the effort of a garage sale to me. And I don't like people, so it's easier this way.

Some people really will buy used underwear at a garage sale. It's amazing.

10 hours of prep work and garage sale time.......
$2 an hour; life is good!

I liked going as a child to collect all the books, board games, and video games. I've attempted to have 2 actual "Garage" sales.Both were good days, I started as soon as I could set out the tables and by 9 am I was bored and just set out a free sign.

They used to be good. Ever since Antiques Roadshow became a thing, everyone wants like-new prices for old-ass crap.

The closest dropoff that will give me a receipt gets my stuff.
