Why would he kill himself in that case? Being gay in prison would be like a straight guy getting locked in an all female dorm at an inter city college. Sure your potential targets are a little rough around the edges, but you have a buffet with a wide variety of choices.

I thought of that too, but if he can reach the floor, then the rope's not around his neck (or he's doing it wrong). So, if he takes it off while on the chair/bed, etc, then he can walk around on the soapy floor. I don't know, just trying to figure it out.

I'm sure he didn't actually hang himself in the traditional sense. I'm sure he tied the whatever around his neck and to the fixture, then let his feet go out from under him. He wasn't suspended.
