My understanding is that former Baylor decathlete Luke Littlefield will now compete for the Ags in 2019. At the 2017 outdoor Big 12 outdoor meet Luke scored 6830 points and finished in 5th place. The Temple, Tx native (Central Texas Christian School) won 3 events (110h, PV, and HJ) at the 2017 TAPPS meet and also scored 2nd in the LJ and 3rd in the 100. With good coaching at A&M Luke has the potential to score at conference and eventually maybe even Nationals. Great training partner for senior Nathan Hite.

Another new member to the track program is freshman hurdler Ricky Weir of Goliad. A 2017 graduate who spent a year at Incarnate Word, he was a silver medalist (37.84) in the long hurdle event and bronze medalist in the short hurdles (14.41). May also be a candidate for the multi events.

3 observations about the mens'/womens' '18-'19 team now that their roster is up.
1. As has been the case in recent years the group should contend for both SEC and national titles....strong group!!
2. Frosh signee Preston Swiggart (Houston Christian grad with a HJ best of 6'8.25") has had his career ended due to serious back issues...doctors have advised him against jumping...While a terrible personal setback for this young man, he will continue with the team as a manager.
3. Mult's performer and Baylor transfer Luke Littlefield is not listed on the roster...perhaps he is redshirting indoors and should have outdoor eligibility where he could compete as a soph.
