Yelle and Roubique are definitely in, Moon's 500 is probably in. Toney will need some help with scratches in the 4IM, but that will put them at the 18 person limit without diving in the mix yet.

So how does that work?

Is it 18 including diving or 18+ diving?

If you have say 20 qualified, you'd obviously have a selection... would relays provide additional swimmers? For example, your 19th and 20th qualified swimmers might not swim individual events, but could swim relays. It might be a way to get them in the water for official swims?!

18 with divers counting 1/2 is correct. You can bring up to 4 extra relay people (provided you meet certain other criteria), but they count toward the 18 limit as well.

If we do get 18 invited to the NCAA women swimming and diving championship, the issue with the team is with respect to the relay teams make up.

Two members of the 200 free relay team, Raena Eldridge and Golf Sapianchai would not be invited. So the question is whether you take them for 200 free relay only or have invited persons swim the 200 free relay.

The top 10 best times in the 50 free are shown below from which the relay team can be chosen from. Kristin Malone, Claire Rasmus, Bethany Galat, McKenna Debever and Jing Wen Quah would be invited.

The other question is whether Beryl Gastaldello will be swimming, If not, then that changes the dynamics of most of the relays.
I suspect the 200 free relay could be Kristin Malone (21.85 split), Claire Rasmus, Bethany Galat, McKenna Debever (22.27 split). There is also the option of using Sydney Pickrem who has a sub 23 split

Both Caitlyn Moon and Camryn Toney missed out on selection. The cut off was 36-37 in each event. Caitlyn was 37 ranked in the 500 free but didn't make the cut. The rule is the alternate athletes are filled based on their % off the Championship record which was Katie Ledecky record,
The cut off for the 50 free was 40 swimmers since 37-40 had the same time of 22.30.
I really thought at least Caitlyn would have gotten invited
The good news is that Beryl has not been scratched and is still listed

SwimSwam had a project point total, based on Top16 swimmers. It assumed no scratches and that final psych sheet would be unaffected by those Top16.

Had the Lady Ags projected at a close 3rd. I'm assuming there is nothing in the official Psych sheet to affect early projectings?!

Should be a great Championship.

Moon gets in if even 1 swimmer gets scratched out of the meet. With Stanford already meeting the limit with 18 swimmers, and the high likelihood they will qualify at least 1 diver who will score more than their 18th swimmer, it's a pretty strong bet she still gets in.

Beryl Gastaldello also won the 50 free at the College Station sectional yesterday in 22.03.
