She wants to go to a team that she won't have to compete to be a part of the team. She could go to Stanford, but Manuel would be the top dog. Here at A&M she would be around a group of Alpha females and have to actually try.

It's pretty disappointing to see how many BCS swimmers and divers have gone to Austin for the last several decades.

I think Coach Bultman still has not gotten enough credit for the development of his swimmers over the years. More top Texas swimming athletes should want and be coming to Texas A&M. Anyway he will continue to develop the talent he gets and we would still be a Top 5 program. It was rumored that Lucie Nordman might have been coming our way but decided to go Stanford. It seems that everyone wants to go Stanford now.As mentioned earlier Julia Cook swam with Aggie swim club and still chose Texas

Didn't know where to put this, but want some of yall's help sending good vibes our way. Not gonna share too much because it's not my story but my nephew is a swimmer. 6A. Great Flier. And IM'er. Class of 2019.

Good kid.
Hard worker.
Visited A&M, Indiana, ASU, Notre Dame this past month. All unofficial because of how early it is.

Has narrowed it to A&M, Notre Dame, and ASU. And wants to commit before his senior year. Bob Bowman at ASU asked him to verbally commit last weekend and has given him a short window (I think he has one more week) to respond. For him, the pull of being coached by Michael Phelps' coach is big. But he was impressed with A&M and Coach Holme's desire to put a national championship team in the pool. A big part is going to come down to overall cost of attendance so the A&M, Notre Dame, and ASU are putting numbers together.

Me and my dad graduated from A&M and are rooting for the good guys to get a great early verbal commit for 2019.

Please send lots of positive thoughts our way!

Best of luck to him, that's a tough process.

If he saw went down for the men this week he knows the good guys are rocketing in the right direction.

That's what we are hoping he will see. But trying to be supportive without pushing too hard.

His club coach, who is an Olympian was pushing for Texas but the kid wrote them off early in the process.

Went to state as a freshman and sophomore but did not podium. This is his junior year and his goal is to podium which I think he will do easily. But the HS he is at doesn't have a good swim program (he attends practice but he is so far ahead of everyone else that the coach lets him train separately and according to his club coach's recommendations).

he is considering not swimming for his HS his senior year and doubling down with his club team which I think is one of the reasons he wants to get the recruiting done this year.

The biggest pull I think at Notre Dame is that they have a hyperbaric chamber. A&M does not. ASU's facilities are outdoors which I think he is not a big fan of.

Best wishes to him. I don't know where he lives, but If he is in TX he should consider the joy of having his family and friends be able to see him compete. ND and ASU would surely complicate that unless family/friends have the money and time to travel. Some kids want to get away from family, so maybe it's not a big deal for him. Keep us informed.

I saw this kid swim at the Corpus TISCA meet a couple of weeks ago. McAllen is not where you normally go to find DI swimmers, but holy cow! Olympic caliber frame. He went 1:39 200fr and 4:36 500 fr. He was so much better than the competition that after the first 50 he had a 3 second lead in the 500 and from there it looked like he was cruising a practice set. He can go a heck of a lot faster. Pair that with a 20.1 50 and a national championship in the 100 fly? From McAllen? And it looks like he could still drop some body fat. You put him in a college program for a year and he's going to be a monster!
