Now on to NCAAs.

From the brief look... I'm guessing we have 7 or so with automatic qualifiers?! All relays are in.

Just a couple more meets and last-chance qualifiers.

I haven't looked at Cal or Stanford, lately, but I'm sure they are loaded, as usual.

Do we even have a chance?

We have 12 that are well below the cutoff to make NCAA's.

A Cuts

Bratton
Galat
Gibson
McGregor
Pickrem

B Cuts that will make the cut

Caneta
Gastaldello
Gonzalez-Hermosillo
Gonzalez Medina
Jonker
Malone
Rasmus

All relays have the automatic qualifying standard. There are some last chance meets this week as well to see if anyone else can make the cut. I suspect there will be 1 or 2 relay only alternates brought along as well. Zone diving takes place starting March 6 so the hope would be to add Hudkins and Kalonji to the group again this year.

Turned it on just before they presented the team trophy and saw them jump in the pool after sawing horns off. Winning 2 straight in this conference is a great achievement.

NCAA updates on the Men's side. They have an extra week for qualifying at next week's American Short Course meet in Austin, and there are still most of the men's meets yet to take place, but the B cuts below are well under what it took to qualify last year.

A Cuts

Bolleter

B Cuts that will make the meet

Bonetti
Castillo Luna
Martinez Gomez
Tybur

Having more than 4 individuals qualified means they can bring up to 4 relay alternates and swim any relay with a qualifying standard. Right now, they can swim both medleys and the 200 free relay. Expectation would be to get at least Henschel and Thornton qualified out of the Zone diving meet as well.

A couple of notable swims from the Florida Last Chance meet prelims this morning:

Karling Hemstreet - 4:41.60 in the 500, moves her inside the top 40 nationally

Raena Eldridge - 22.56 in the 50, makes her #2 on the team this year in the event.

Finals of both events tonight at 5ET/4CT. No live results so just relying on what gets reported back from on deck.

One more notable swim from Florida. Karling Hemstreet with a 1:45.22 in the 200 free, that should be well inside the cut line to guarantee her spot in Indianapolis.

With the NCAA women psych sheet out Sarah Gibson is only swimming two events the 100 and 200 fly events. Beryl is not listed in the 100 fly but in the 100 back. Sycerika McMahon did not make NCAA this year.

That means Gibson will swim 5 relays. 500 free is loaded this year so if she can split a sub 22 on the 200 free relay that is a huge boost to that relay's scoring potential and could mean more than a B final in the 500.

Based on Beryl's 50 back leadoff at SEC's it isn't overly surprising to give her a shot at the backstroke. Her best time from 2015 SEC's puts her in scoring range and she has the ability to threaten the top 8 in that event.
