Some updates and notes from DeSoto/Cedar Hill
I caught up with DeSoto 2025 S Sael Reyes, the younger brother of Antonio Johnson, after the game to get a few comments about new Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and Texas A&M. He was offered by Elko at Duke.On Elko being hired"With Elko going to A&M - just knowing how he did with my brother and how he produced him - that really boosts A&M to one of the top schools on my list right now. So yeah, they're one of the top schools on my list."On Antonio's feedback on Elko"AJ has just been saying how he's a great coach. Like during the (NFL) combine, he helped my brother go through the combine with all the questions and everything. So he's pushing me to go to A&M now for real."On Texas A&M overall"The university as a whole it was already a good university. They just got a couple of upgrades like the new practice facility. Now they're one of the top schools with a great coach."I have also been told by sources close to his recruitment the Aggies would not only be among his top schools, but let's just say very very high among his top schools.********I also caught up with DeSoto 2025 RB Deondrae Riden after the game. He has been very high on the Aggies throughout his recruiting process which began when Tommie Robinson and Jimbo Fisher offered in April of 2022 (the spring between his freshman and sophomore seasons). He has visited numerous times over the course of the last couple of years. Now that Jimbo is out, the question is where the Aggies stand now"My reaction when I first heard Jimbo was gone, I was sad because that was my guy. But they have a new guy coming in and he wins games and he can change your program so I'm alright with that."On getting back to College Station"Most definitely. I'm going to be down there real soon. Real soon"Riden finished the night with 105 yards and a TD on 10 carries and also had 5 receptions for 43 yards.**************I'm hearing attention from college coaches has also significantly increased on 2025 WR Daylon Singleton, who is currently committed to SMU. A&M offered in the spring but seemed to lightly recruit him. It wouldn't surprise me if the Aggies took another good long look under Elko. Here's a little more background on Singleton. He has been a known prospect before he got much time on the field at DeSoto. He has all the speed, athleticism, and size coaches look for but was fighting for time in DeSoto's WR rotation. This fall has been a breakout year, Just go watch the Duncanville clips where he posted 6 receptions for 179 yards and 2 TDs. Duncanville High School - Daylon Singleton highlights - Hudl*************DeSoto 2027 WR Ethan Feaster is well on his way to being a top national recruit and he has been on Texas A&M's radar since before he was in high school. I know he and his family were disappointed to see Dameyune Craig go. They formed a really strong bond with him. That said the overall Texas A&M program has made a strong impression on his many visits. He's originally from Louisiana and LSU has always been high on his list, but like I said he's already attracting coast-to-coast attention. Last night he was wearing some Ohio State gear and at this early point there is still a long way to go in his recruitment.
