The rain showed us a leak in the attic, but really can't pin down the source.

Call a plumber or a roofer, or is there a specialist for such as this ?

My husband does. He is a contractor with Holden Roofing. He can take a look and do an emergency patch (generally as a courtesy if a small patch/issue)

Plumber isn't going to be able to help a rain leak issue.
Definitely a roofer.
