On night to remember, Manziel brings Heisman back to Aggieland

NEW YORK CITY — Heisman … gave it to him.

At the Best Buy Theatre, spectacular Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel became the first freshman in the 78-year history of the Heisman Trophy to win college football’s most coveted individual award on Saturday night.

He won by a wide margin over Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein.

Upon hearing his name announced, Manziel embraced his father and mother, who had tears in their eyes.
