HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The No. 11 Texas A&M softball team claimed its eighth-straight win in run-rule fashion, 11-0, Wednesday night at Bearkat Softball Complex.

Texas A&M (39-9) jumped in the driver’s seat in the first inning after Sam Houston (17-27) walked the first two Aggies and Trinity Cannon followed with a three-run home run. The Aggies made it 4-0 in the opening frame after Koko Wooley singled and later scored after Rylen Wiggins reached on a fielding error.

The Aggies extended their lead in the fourth with a pair of runs, before camping in run-rule territory with five runs in the sixth inning.

Cannon matched her career-high five RBI to lead the offensive fire power, while hitting her team-leading 13th home run and second round tripper in as many games.

Aggie starter Shaylee Ackerman retired seven straight batters before the Bearkats mustered their first hit. Ackerman finished the night striking out five batters, while yielding two hits for her eighth win of the season.
