Texas A&M soccer has struggled out of the gate, slumping to 1-3-1 to begin the season. Head coach G Guerrieri joined Wednesday's edition of TexAgs Radio to detail how he feels his team has responded to adversity and the Aggies' upcoming test with Grambling State.

Key notes from G Guerrieri interview

  • It's been difficult. We have been good enough to win all of these games. We have outshot a lot of opponents. We have to win these games. We have a few games that should be turning our way. There are technical things we have to take care of. We are putting ourselves in a good position with the little things, but it's always the little things in the end that are killing us. We are not scoring on set pieces. We are usually really good at that. Our goalkeeper did that last week.

  • Kenna Caldwell's goal was a pretty good goal. That's not a fluke. She hit the ball really well.

  • You have to play within your range. Know thy self is an important part of life and our game. We have made adjustments in personnel to play to our strengths. Our defense has been rock solid. Our breakdown was in the last three minutes of the game. I cannot overexaggerate how pleased I am, but it is the last little thing. Our defense has to play perfectly.

  • Grambling State will give us some challenges. They have tied their last three games. We will need the 12th Man there.

  • Conference play starts next week. Kentucky comes to town next Friday. We have been learning lessons. The SEC has the highest winning percentage. We have intentionally gone out and been battle-tested.
