On Monday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as football season is finally here. This past weekend, Jamie Morrison's volleyball squad started its season 2-0, and soccer slumped to 0-2-1.


Football
It is officially game week! Fightin' Texas Aggie football will kick off its 2023 season this Saturday against New Mexico. If you aren't heading to Kyle Field this weekend, you catch the Aggies on ESPN at 6 p.m.

Texas A&M Athletics announced new exclusive partnerships with Molson Coors and Boston Beer Company on Friday.

  • Coors Light will be the domestic beer partner for the Aggies
  • Twisted Tea Hard Iced Tea will serve as the exclusive flavored malt beverage

Volleyball (2-0)
The Jamie Morrison era got off to a great start. After picking up a win against Omaha in its regular-season opener Friday night, Texas A&M made it two in a row with a 3-0 sweep of Pepperdine Saturday at the Omaha Invite. The Aggies are now off until Thursday when they open the Hampton Inn Invitational with Wright State.

Friday: 3-1 win over Omaha

  • (25-18, 25-27, 25-12, 25-21)
  • Caroline Meuth led the team with 17 kills
  • .364 hitting percentage and 11 blocks

Saturday: 3-0 sweep over Pepperdine

  • (25-12, 25-21, 25-15)
  • Bianna Muoneke led the team with 12 kills
  • .420 hitting percentage and 8 blocks

The Aggies are now off until Thursday when they open the Hampton Inn Invitational with Wright State.

Soccer (0-2-1)
Texas A&M outshot the visiting Baylor Bears 22-5 but played to a 1-1 draw Saturday night in front of the second-largest crowd in Ellis Field history. The Maroon & White boasted 6,743 fans for the Fish Camp Game.

The Aggies wrap up their 4-game home stand with Tulsa on Thursday at 7 p.m., before traveling to TCU this weekend.

Track & Field
Former Texas A&M track & field standout Charokee Young claimed silver in the 4x400m relay, while Athing Mu secured bronze in the 800m on the final day of the World Athletics Championships at the National Athletics Centre.
