Texas A&M Football
* The 12th Man Foundation is an affiliate of A&M that is fully dedicated to athletics. Their mission is funding the programs, scholarships and facilities in support of championship athletics.
* The 12th Man Foundation has two budgets, an annual donation budget and a larger gift budget that are added together when A&M gets audited at the end of the year. Almost 14.8 million dollars will go into athletics from them each year, and that number is always increasing.
* A committee was set up to determine which firm should be in-charge of the Kyle Field project and Populous was chosen because of their outstanding work.
* Populous will come back with many options and are doing everything they can to learn about A&M to make this project as good as possible.
* The 12th Man Foundation is supporting the University on this project because this is a University-wide project and not a Foundation project.
* It’s exciting that the Kyle Field project is so big that it has taken on a life of its own. The University has hired the top firm in the world to come back and give A&M options, so they would not have the audacity to give them ultimatums that they would be forced to work with.
* At least the next 100 years of football will be played in this facility, so it is important that they get it right.
* A&M has asked Populous to have some renderings back by early fall and will be waiting to do anything else until then.
* The schools in the SEC that have more money than A&M does in athletics have a lot more premium seats in the stadium, and A&M plans to have plenty of premium seats when this project is finished.
* In the Big 12, A&M was second in overall dollars from donors. In the SEC, A&M is seventh in overall fundraising, and that is due to those premium seats in the stadiums.
* The athletic trustees do an incredible job and spend hours on committees helping with budgeting and other aspects of athletics.
* The 12th Man Foundation is very happy with Blue Bell Park and it’s a miracle to think that even a year ago, the facility had not been touched yet. Other teams are talking about Blue Bell Park and that shows that it is getting buzz from all over the place.
* To get a suite in Blue Bell Park, you have to be a Foundation member. It will be interesting to see the turnover in seating after this season, and he thinks that people are not going to want to give up their seats.
* The 12th Man Foundation has committed to being the best, and sometimes that takes putting funds into major marketing efforts. They are aiming to grow their donor base and hope that the current marketing schemes will help that.
* It’s tough to resell tickets, so the Foundation is looking into software that allows tickets to be resold through the Foundation, that way tickets can stay in the hands of Aggies.
* He is blessed to be on the transition team and had the opportunity to go to Birmingham to see the SEC offices. The guys want to kill each other on the field, but respect each other and know the in’s and out’s of the other schools. The class of the conference is evident in everything they do.
* There will be an annual SEC conference held on campus next summer.
* They launched the T-A-M club a couple of years ago and that is a $12-a-month donation that is easier for new graduates or people who are a little more financially strapped that still want to be involved.
* They have established a priority point system to recognize the support each individual has put into the Foundation. It’s a very fair way to make sure that benefits are allocated the way they should be.
* He hopes to see the Aggie Band travel to as many road games as possible and thinks it’s important to have at least part of them at each away game.

Notes from Miles Marks interview
* He looks back a year ago when A&M had settled back into the Big 12 and they were scrambling to reduce ticket prices and had plans to reduce the capacity of Kyle Field because it wasn’t selling out, but now all of those plans have changed and are planning on doing bigger and better things.* The 12th Man Foundation is an affiliate of A&M that is fully dedicated to athletics.
