Key notes from Anish Shroff interview

  • Kyle Field is massive and from my outsider perspective Aggieland has been wonderful.

  • Keeping the audience entertained is a challenge in game like this. You are always trying to find ways to be creative.  As announcers, we live for the close games, but we do not always get them.  Announcers have to prepare accordingly for games similar to this.

  • If we are able to highlight traditions and give viewers a backstage pass into Aggieland, that is where we can capture some attention from the viewers if the game is getting out of hand.

  • This game more than likely will not be close and this week is about Texas A&M staying at one loss and moving forward in their season to potentially make a run at the College Football Playoff.

  • Trevor Knight is a talented quarterback, but he brings a leadership aspect to the position that has not been present at in the quarterback room in the past few years.

  • Texas A&M now looks the part of an SEC team. When they entered the SEC they looked like the typical Big 12 team.  The depth across the field in all positions is incredible and that should be a credit to Kevin Sumlin and this coaching staff.

  • No one is beating Alabama this season.  That team could potentially go down as an all-time team in college football.  It would be incredibly surprising if they lost a game the remainder of this season.

  • The better Alabama does, the better a one-loss Texas A&M team looks.  If you are Texas A&M, root for Alabama to win out and win the SEC Championship.  If the University of Washington slips up once, an 11-1 A&M team would be far superior.  There will be better one-loss teams than Baylor even if they finish undefeated.
