Coveted Plano East linebacker Anthony Hines talked with TexAgs about a weekend of football and food in Aggieland. Hines discussed his relationship with John Chavis, the power of the 12th Man, and more.

Jason Howell TexAgs.com here with Anthony Hines. Anthony, you just wrapped up a visit at Texas A&M. What was it about Texas A&M that you wanted to make it your first one?

Anthony: Just the atmosphere. The 12th Man is a great tradition, it is always a huge stadium and they made it even bigger. Coach Chavis just a great relationship with him and Coach Sumlin and it is always a great time.

Jason: Was there anything in particular sitting in that stadium or you know or in that game atmosphere that really caught your attention?

Anthony: Definitely that 50,000 chant you know mocking Rosen, it was awesome. They are always totally on key with the situation so it was an awesome experience.

Jason: What is your biggest take away from your overall perspective of the visit?

Anthony: Biggest take away, one of the crazy things was that I was getting fed around every corner so that was an awesome experience. On top of just being able to hang out with Coach Chavis and build our relationship even further and also to have my mom and grandma and father there for them to see the experience that I see every time I go down there and to see it from that perspective was awesome.

Jason: You talk about that food, what was the best thing you got to eat while you were down there?

Anthony: Christopher’s. World famous chef or Texas A&M alumni run that and it was crazy. Amazing.

Jason: You have that decision coming up November 29th. What is the significance of that date for you?

Anthony: I really just chose it. That was the time table I was willing to work with and can see myself committing by.

Jason: Browning also kind of came out with that and I know you guys have a pretty close friendship, both two pretty big linebackers in the state of Texas. When November came around for both of you it caught some attention there. Was there any collaboration on the decision date there?

Anthony: You’ll just have to wait and see.

Jason: If you could sum up your visit in one word what would that be?

Anthony: Spectacular.

Jason: Why is that?

Anthony: Like you said, that gameday experience on top of the great Coaches that they have and just the players as well. The experience as a whole was just spectacular.

Jason: Watching those linebackers, what were the thoughts going through your head and what did you think about maybe seeing yourself out there?

Anthony: They are already ballers, those linebackers. With Chief’s mental aspect, they were filling holes before they were even really open and closed them immediately so that was really awesome to see.

Jason: What comes to mind when you think of Coach Chavis?

Anthony: Great Coach. His production of linebackers in the NFL, 3 stars even and producing them to NFL players is spectacular.

Jason: You have your Texas visit this week. Are there any other schools you know you will be taking visits to?

Anthony: None that I know of right now.

Jason: So no more visits on the schedule other than the Texas visit coming up and just wrapped up your Texas A&M visit. You have a lot of things coming down to pipe and we will all be paying close attention. Thanks so much Anthony, good luck with the recruiting process.
