Notes from Devin Morris interview
- Really excited right now. The 2017 class has been down after some decommits but knew they would come back and last night proved that.
- Knew he had to take control of pumping up the 2017 class because he was the first committed. Wanted to get the class where it needs to be and it's starting to get there.
- Excited for Kellen Mond's commitment. Will set the tone for the rest of the class and has gotten a lot of attention.
- Likes A&M because it's very close to home and the coaches treated him like family. He fell in love with the program, the coaches and the fans and because of that, A&M feels like home.
- Knew he was solid from A&M since the day he committed. Never has thought about going anywhere else.
- Expects to finish high school career strong. Hopes to win a district championship and go farther in the playoffs than last year.
- Worries about the team first, but wants to gain All-State honors again this season.
- Knows fellow Caldwell native Jason Carter pretty well. Carter has talked and worked out with the team in the past and has given advice about attending Texas A&M.
- Means a lot to follow Carter's legacy. People say he should wear #7 at A&M to follow in his footsteps.
- Looks to improve on his footwork and speed before stepping up to play against SEC teams.
- The first time running out of the tunnel into a packed Kyle Field will be one to remember. The whole family will be there and he's really excited to do it.
- Been playing football since the age of seven and has always dreamed of going to the NFL. Getting to play college ball is a dream come true in its own.
- Looking at John Chavis' track record is incredible. Really loves Chavis and knows he likes tall corners and feels like he'll fit in perfectly with what he's trying to do.
- Thinks the biggest transition from high school to college will be the speed of the game.
- Mom has been a huge support throughout the recruiting process and has always been there for him.
- 110% an Aggie. Watch out for the Caldwell Hornets this year. Gig 'em.
