On his walk-off single to win the series against Alabama...
"The coaches just told me before I went up to bat just to get off my best swing and try not to let them jam me. His pitches were coming inside, so I just stuck with my approach and thought, 'Middle of the field with runners in scoring position' and that's what I did.

"I am glad that we came out on top."

On getting shaving cream in the face...
"It was actually shaving cream and it burned pretty bad, but yeah, it came out pretty good."

On being in the pinch-hitting role and coming into the game ready...
"I just try to make sure that I am mentally prepared, not physically as much. Just keeping my head in the game and trying to be ready for a big spot because my name can be called anytime."

On his bat flip after hitting a grand slam on Tuesday against UT-Arlington...
"It was just a reaction"

On best part of playing under Rob Childress and being on this team for four years...
"They just like to have fun. That's my favorite part. We just come out here and have fun. They don't try to really get on us as much as maybe they should sometimes. They try to keep our heads high and keep our love for the game up there."

On how the team has progressed from the beginning of the season...
"From the fall I knew that we were going to be really good on the mound. Hitting-wise, we struggled in the beginning but we came together with a plan, and every single hitter in the lineup and not in the lineup are all just trying to reach that bar that we set for ourselves.

"We have grown and it shows. I think that we're No. 2 in the nation in batting average and that has taken us a long way so far. Hopefully, it can take us to Omaha."

On the role his family has played during his baseball career...
"They have definitely kept my head up. I have been getting down on myself some, but they have actually pushed me and tried to keep me motivated all the time. My dad sits there like every single game and I've been blessed to have a family that can make it to almost every game, home and away."

On the focus this week in practice preparing for Arkansas...
"Our focus this weekend is to just go out there and reach the bar that we set. We have a team goal and that is to win the SEC West, so hopefully we can go out there and play our A game."

On where "Holy Moroney" came from...
"I honestly have no idea."
