BOX SCORE

If the Aggie pitching staff was the story of Friday night's win over Georgia, Saturday was all about the offense. Hitting five home runs over the course of the game, including back-to-back-to-back jacks in the fifth inning, Texas A&M bested Georgia, 15-1.

The Aggies started scoring early, and didn't take their collective foot off the gas pedal until the end of the game.

The top of the order got things started in the first as J.B. Moss led off with a single. Nick Banks followed that with a walk, and both veterans pulled off a double-steal shortly thereafter. A Boomer White single plated Moss a few pitches later to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead.

The vaunted Texas A&M offense rolled for the rest of the game. The Aggies scored another run in the first, one in the third and two in the fourth, matching Friday's run-total with relative ease and taking a 5-0 lead.

While the Aggie bats were hot throughout the game, the fifth inning was something special. White started the proceedings with a solo home run to left. Melton followed that with a shot to right on the next pitch.

Georgia changed pitchers after Melton's homer, but it was all the same to Ryne Birk. He took the second pitch he saw from Shane Tucker over the right field fence for the Aggies' third straight home run, pushing the lead to 8-1.

"I've never been a part of that," White said of the feat. "I've seen it. I think it's happened against me once or twice, but that was pretty cool. It's great when those guys are hitting well."

The Aggies tacked on another run in the fifth and added two in the sixth when Melton hit his second homer of the day. The offense finished the day by plating 4 in the eighth, including another home run from Nick Banks.

Not to be overshadowed, Jace Vines had a great day on the mound. Bouncing back from a short and disappointing start against Florida, the sophomore threw eight innings of one-run baseball, striking out seven and giving up eight hits.

Corbin Martin closed out the ninth inning on the mound, finishing off what head coach Rob Childress called the Aggies' best performance of the season.

"It was maybe our most complete game of the year — top to bottom," he said. "I'm very proud of our guys and the way we've played since we've been back home."

The Aggies will return to Olsen Field on Sunday to try to complete the sweep of the Bulldogs at 1 pm.
