Aggies land commitment from Cy-Creek OL Grayson Reed

Make it two pledges in two days for Texas A&M.

At Saturday’s Maroon & White scrimmage the Aggies scored a commitment from four-star Cy-Creek offensive lineman Grayson Reed. The 6-5, 295-pounder picked A&M over Texas, Oklahoma and many others programs around the country.

Reed follows Magnolia West safety Myles Jones, who picked the Aggies on Friday.

The hiring of Jim Turner proved to be the biggest key in Reed’s recruitment, as the two struck up a great relationship as soon as the hire was made official. It's a big get for the Aggies considering Reed grew up going to Texas football games to watch his cousin Cedric Reed play.

This is Jim Turner’s first 2017 offensive line commit since arriving back in Aggieland.

Reed marks the sixth pledge in A&M's 2017 class and the first offensive lineman.

I can see why Grayson wouldn't want to follow his cousin's footsteps to tu. I mean Cedric was one of the top DEs in the country coming out of high school and he went to tu where he did ok but then didn't get drafted and is now on the Bills practice squad.

Yet another one of the many late Mack Brown years busts. Guys that we really wanted and needed. I just wonder if our coaching staff at the time could have done any more with these guys than the sips did.

I do know that Jim Turner will develop Grayson into an NFL player.

The last Cy-Creek lineman the Ags signed had a pretty nice career.
